SAO Energy working with Okra Solar, an Australian technology company that uses advanced digital monitoring, billing and mesh grids to make electrification more affordable to underserved communities in Africa and Asia has successfully installed 200 small house systems in Omolege.

This solar installation project which was carried out on February 12th, 2022 saw Omolege- a community located in Owo local government area of Ondo State enjoy the benefits of electrification after rummaging in darkness for over 40 years.

SAO Energy’s objective for this pilot project is to re-energise households, primary health care centres, schools and religious establishments that have been without electricity supply for the past three years – with Omolege being the first beneficiary. 
Products used for the project: Batteries – 50amp batteries, 600watt inverter, panel 200watts (Each has one panel, one inverter, and one battery) with a pod (to serve as a charge controller and regulate the light, and Small house system (SHS)). Each house has this.
