Description:
This project was executed in collaboration with USAID Power Africa and HETA under the ‘Sustainable Electrification of PHCs’ project, which resulted in bringing reliable solar energy to 30 Basic Healthcare Centers, 73 households, and 17 small businesses across 4 Local Government Areas in the South-Western region of Nigeria. 5KW solar systems were deployed across healthcare centers, generating 486kWp daily, and excess power was distributed to households and businesses utilizing our mesh grid technology. The project serves 300,000 people and aims to enhance healthcare delivery, provide clean energy to households, and support small businesses with affordable, sustainable power.
Key Achievements:
- 30 Basic Healthcare Centers: Eliminated neonatal mortality during nighttime deliveries, improved healthcare service delivery by over 60%, and reduced vaccine wastage from to almost zero.
- 17 Small Businesses: Provided reliable solar energy to boost revenues and support business operations.
- 73 Households: We delivered stable power through our mesh grid technology to households located in close proximity to the health centers, improving the general well being of the residents.
